Book Suggestion Saturday

I am excited to be starting my new “Suggestion Saturday” posts! This is where I will be (duh) suggesting books that I feel should be read. All of my suggestions will contain NO SPOILERS and they are suggested based on my opinion.

Today’s book suggestion goes to one of my all time favourite dystopian reads; BRANDED by Abi Ketner and Missy Kalicicki.

Darkness. Death. Violence. Pain.
Now every day is a fight for survival. But I won’t die. I won’t let them win. The Hole can’t keep me. The Hole can’t break me. I am more than my brand. I’m a fighter.
My name is Lexi Hamilton, and this is my story.

Branded is based in a society where Sinners of the seven deadly sins are sentenced to life imprisonment within the Hole where no one is safe and you are no longer considered human…

Lexi Hamilton is accused, captured and branded with lust before being shipped off into the Hole where she is sure she will rot away for the rest of her days.
That isn’t the case though…

Branded, I feel, is a journey. A journey that is indescribable but one that you want to brag to everybody about, it’s just that good!

Without giving too much away Branded is filled with action, suspense, drama, loss, friendship, violence, death, love and passion. All of these emotions and many more ooze out of branded, making you immediately want more.

Lexi plays the very human, kick-ass heroine that always seems to amaze me because she is relatable and easy to love even though she lives in the messed up world that she does. Like most YA books of today we have a swoon worthy love interest (which I claim dibs on) Cole, who is Lexis guard. There is also the hilarious Zeus who is capable of lightening any mood and Alyssa that wrenches at your heart strings. The characters burst out, claiming your thoughts for days and branding words into your mind.

An exceptional read that I highly recommend.

I rate BRANDED as: ⏳a 12 hour read⏳

And so we begin the reading revolution…
